What this website knows about you, why, and how to make it stop. Written to be read rather than to be legally impressive.
Four things, and that is all.
Counting visits
Only with your agreement for the detailed sort. A plain count of pages read happens either way and cannot identify anybody.
What you type
An enquiry or an order is kept so we can answer it and send it. Nothing more than that.
The bag
Buying something needs a small cookie to remember what is in your bag. Without it a shop cannot work at all.
Nothing is sold
No advertising, no following you around other websites, no lists sold or rented to anyone. Ever.
The person behind the site.
Jennifer Ewbank is responsible for the information collected here. She is based in The Hague in the Netherlands and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 51850966.

Two different sorts of counting.
The first needs your permission. Google Analytics can see roughly where in the world visitors are, which pages they read, and whether they went on to listen somewhere. It is switched off until you agree to it, and your address is shortened before it reaches Google so that it does not identify you.
The second does not, because it cannot identify anybody. It records the day, the page, and which website sent you. No cookie, no address, nothing that could ever be traced back to a person. It runs for everybody so that the numbers mean something.
Advertising features are switched off in both. Nothing here is used to follow you around other websites, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
Your answer is remembered for six months, then you will be asked again. Change your mind whenever you like with the Cookie choice link at the bottom of every page.
Google is based in the United States. Where information reaches them, it does so under the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
Every one this site uses.
There are four, and here they all are.
- Your answer to the notice. Remembers whether you said yes or no, so you are not asked again for six months. Kept in the browser, not sent anywhere.
- Your bag. Remembers what you have chosen in the shop while you are choosing it. It disappears when you close the browser. A shop cannot work without this one, so it is not something we ask about.
- How many things are in your bag. A single number, so the rest of the site can show it in the menu. It holds nothing else.
- Google Analytics. Only if you agreed. If you said no it is never set at all.
What happens when you write.
The contact and booking forms ask for your name, your email address, optionally your organisation, and your message. All of it is used for one thing, which is replying to you.
Your message goes to the relevant address at this domain, and depending on what you asked about it reaches booking, press or general enquiries. Email is held with the hosting company in the Netherlands.
Enquiries are kept for two years, so a conversation started this season can be picked up next season. After that they are deleted. If you would rather yours went sooner, ask and it will.
What an order needs to know.
To send you a parcel we need your name, your address and a way to reach you. There is nothing clever going on: it is written on the label and used to tell you where the parcel has got to.
Orders are kept for six years. That is not us being greedy, it is how long tax records have to be held, and it is the one thing on this page we cannot delete on request.
Where card payments are handled by someone else, your card details go to them and never to us. We never see or hold a card number.
If you tick the box to hear from Jennifer, your address goes on the letter list and the date and the wording you agreed to are recorded with it. If you do not tick it, nothing happens. An order is not permission.
Other people's machinery.
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see that a browser requested a font from this page. Video and audio are served from this site's own hosting, so nothing is shared when you press play.
Links to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook are ordinary links. Nothing is shared until you click one, and once you do you are on their site under their rules rather than these.
What you can ask for.
Under UK and European data protection law you can ask for a copy of anything held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being used at all.
Write to website@jenniferewbank.co.uk. There is no form and no charge. You will hear back within thirty days, and usually a great deal sooner.
If you are unhappy with the answer you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom.
If this changes.
